Ambulance crews were called to an incident at 4.25pm following a collision between with cyclist and a black Peugeot 307 car.
According to an ambulance spokesperson, a 51-year-old man suffered serious injuries to his head, chest, lower abdomen and leg. Paramedics assessed his injuries on the roadside and requested additional help.
Two air ambulances arrived at the crash site along with a double crew ambulance. Due to the serious nature of the cyclists injuries he was taken to a trauma centre via air ambulance.
The car driver was uninjured but shaken.
The road was closed for 4 hours and Police have asked for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
