Cyclists based in Hull are being warned to be on their guard after three separate incidents of assault.

Over the past few days, two cyclists reported that they had been grabbed by the front seat passenger of a passing car in the Southcoates Lane area.

Another rider was also pushed off her bike by the passenger of a car on Staveley Road.

In the first of three reports, the cyclist described how a dark coloured vehicle, believed to be an old model Astra, drove alongside and the front seat passenger took hold of their arm and pulled them towards the vehicle.

Fortunately the rider was unhurt in the incident and did not fall from their bike, however they were visibly shaken.

One day later another cyclist reported a similar incident on Southcoates Lane.

A third case was then reported later on that day by a woman cyclist who explained that she was pushed over by the passenger of a passing vehicle.

None of the cyclists were seriously injured in the spate of incidents, but Police have now increased their patrols and are keen to speak to a witness who is thought to have seen what happened in one case.

Although the two men in the car could not be described it is thought they are local after reports from the cyclists said they had a local accent.
