The dust has settled on this years Tour of Britain cycling event. Looking back it was interesting to have seen that one of the main story topping the headlines was Geraint Thomas’ spectacular accident towards the end of of the 6th stage.

Thomas crashed out in the final sprint of the stage as he attempted to make his way between two opponents. Unfortunately the gap closed as he moved in to it and with no space to move, he quickly lost control and fell.

Ian Bibby, who also got caught in the same accident walked away with a broken collar bone, but winner of the stage Lars Boom explained things could have been worse:

“It was lucky I guess that it wasn’t a lot worse given the speed. When you hit the ground going almost 70k an hour you can do a lot of damage.”
