Cyclist Injured in Welwyn Hatfield Accident

A man from Welwyn Hatfield was injured in a cycling accident this weekend. 

Emergency services were called to a junction at 7:45pm after receiving reports that a cyclist had collided with a car. 

The cyclist, aged in his 20s, was helped at the scene by an off-duty paramedic who was on his way home from a shift, before ambulance crews arrived.

A spokesperson confirmed, “Prior to our arrival, an off duty paramedic from Welwyn Garden City, who was on her way home, stopped to assist the man before her colleagues arrived at the scene”

The rider was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. 

It is thought that the driver of the car was not injured in the incident.
