Walsall Placed in Top 10 For Most Cycle Friendly Locations

Walsall has been named on of the top 10 places for cycling enthusiasts in the UK.

The results have come from a survey that was carried out by Virgin Money.

The company looked at a range of different factors to make the decision including bike thefts, cycling accident statistics and the availability of good quality cycling routes and repair centres.

The announcement came as a shock to local riders thought.

One man, who regularly rides in Walsall said, “I think I have had more bikes stolen than most people have had hot dinners.”

While Local Councillor, Worrall agreed that Walsall did have a lot to offer, he said that it needed more funding in order to maintain its facilities.

“I don’t consider Walsall a particularly bike friendly area at all — I am staggered and amused.”

“I would love it to be true, but it’s not based on my experiences.”

Plymouth came out on the top of the list according to the survey with Norwich and Bristol falling in second and third place respectively.
