Cyclists in Wandsworth, central London are celebrating after the opening of a brand new underpass.

The underpass makes it much safer for both cyclists and pedestrians to travel past York Road Roundabout which is notoriously busy.

Several members of the Wandsworth Cycling Campaign (WCC) tested the new underpass out this week.

The underpass adopts Dutch mentality by separating cyclists from other road users.

Pedestrians and cyclists alike have been quick to discover the new route and take advantage of its safety.

A spokesperson for the WCC said, “The new link will open up this part of London to cyclists in Wandsworth and beyond, encouraging them to explore London’s fascinating riverside.”
