A cyclist from Trowbridge has been left speechless after his bicycle was stolen from outside his parents house on Christmas Day.

Mr Darling had stopped off at his parents house on the afternoon of Christmas day and had originally locked up the bike, however when he unlocked it to leave he was distracted by a phone call from his sister, in which time someone crept into the garden and stole the bike.

“I had just cycled over to my parents’ house with the dog so I could have a couple of drinks,” said the keen cyclist.

“I had to move it at one point, and went back in to answer the phone, and when I came out someone had made off with it.

“I don’t know whether they saw me arrive there, or whether they were just walking past, but it is a long garden and it was dark.

Mr Darling said the bike was of great sentimental value to him having taking it on several epic rides, and was devastated to find that it had gone.
