A cyclist has been left hospitalised after an incident involving a pothole. The 68 year old woman, Nancy Semple, was thrown to the side of the road when she hit a large pothole when out on her bike in Midlothian. Luckily a passing motorist took the initiative and along with Nancy’s friend helped her to the hospital where she underwent surgery for her broken elbow. “I did not see the pothole,” said Nancy after the accident. “I was cycling down the road and I was actually on it and the accident was happening before I was aware that there was a pothole,’ she added. The council said while they are repairing the roads, the public should be careful.
