Cyclist taken to hospital after bus crash

A young male cyclist has been taken to hospital by ambulance after being involved in a collision with a bus.  The road traffic accident happened at approximately 7pm on a busy commuter route in a city and witnesses report seeing the injured cyclist conscious after hitting the bus.

Emergency vehicles responded to calls that a young male cyclist had been dismounted after hitting a double decker bus.  Three ambulances and Police responded to 999 calls and arrived to find a cyclist on the roadside and a badly damaged bus windscreen.

Witnesses to the accident said that the man was conscious following the collision but his condition has not been confirmed by the hospital or Emergency services at this stage.

Police secured the scene whilst accident investigators assessed the crash site and roads were reopened after a few hours.

There were no injured parties reported from the bus.
