A marathon cyclist from Shropshire has completed an epic cycling journey which started in England and finished at the famous Sydney Harbour bridge in Australia.

The 15,000 mile ride which started in April 2010 took him through no less than 30 different countries.

The 27 year old said he was inspired to take on the monumental task after his brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2002. The teenager underwent surgery and has now completely recovered.

Henry rode with cycling parter Jamie and collectively they nicknamed themselves themselves “The Blazing Saddles,”

The end of the ride was marked with an interview on Australia’s channel 10 breakfast show.

Henry’s farther said: “It’s a wonderful achievement and a great thing that both lads have done. The whole family is very proud of him.”

“The last week I think was particularly hard work as they had to ride through all the floods they’ve had in Australia to make it to Sydney on schedule and it’s fantastic to know he’s finally reached the end.”

The pair raised almost £50,000 for charity by completing the event and have reported that donations are still flooding in.
