Cyclist knocked off bicycle during rush hour

Commuting to work by bicycle seems to becoming an increasingly more dangerous as yet another cyclist is knocked from his bike on the way to work.  The accident happened at 8.22 am when emergency received calls that a cyclist was seriously injured.

Emergency services including an air ambulance, Police and paramedic crews responded quickly and arrived at the accident scene where a cyclist was seriously injured.  The accident happened on a suburban road and an air ambulance was used to transport the injured cyclist due to the severity of his injuries and the location of the accident.

A Police spokesperson said, “At 8.22am police were called to ……, where a car and a pedal cyclist were reported to have been in collision.

“The cyclist, a man, was believed to have sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

“The Kent, Surrey and Sussex air ambulance attended and police directed traffic at the scene until the road was fully re-opened at 10am.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward with any information relating to the road traffic accident.
