Cyclist breaks both legs in collision with car

Paramedics were called to a scene at approx.  12pm responding to reports a cyclist had been dismounted by a car and had suffered serious injury.

The cyclist was at a junction of a busy A road when the incident took place and is thought to have sustained two broken legs in the accident

The injured cyclist was quickly taken to hospital and is receiving treatment for his injuries.

An Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews treated a man in his 20’s for serious pelvic injuries and fractures to both legs.

“The male car driver involved was assessed at the scene but did not require further hospital treatment.”
