There have sadly been hundreds of stories relating to cyclists being dismounted by four wheeled vehicles or potholes and diesel spills but this is the first accident caused by pedestrians where a cyclist was injured.
The incident was recorded on the cyclists head cam when he was cycling to work in central London at around 9am.
A number of pedestrians decided to cross at a traffic light crossing despite the crossing light being red. The cyclist was travelling legally responding to a green light and had to brake suddenly to avoid the sudden influx of pedestrians who stepped out into his path.
The cyclist was dismounted and left lying injured in the street . A London Ambulance responded quickly to calls and a spokeswoman said: “We were called at 8:55am to ……., to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a pedestrian.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to St Thomas’s hospital.”
His condition is not yet known.
