New Transport for London scheme announced

Facilities for local businesses to be improved by Transport for London scheme.

Transport for London today introduced a scheme to offer London businesses free products and services to encourage their employees to commute by bike.

Businesses must have a minimum of five staff on site and be within 1.5 km of a new Barclays Cycle Superhighway route or within central or greater London in order to join the scheme.

It is hoped the “Cycling Workplaces scheme” will benefit business through providing cycle parking facilities which will help to contribute towards the Mayor’s target of 80,000 additional cycle spaces by 2016.  It will also provide bike-related training to staff.

Businesses can register at the Tfl website or email [email protected] to see what offers their workplace is eligible for.
