Man killed on new cycling superhighway

A man has died on one of several new cycling superhighway in London.

The 58 year old was killed when he collided with a tipper lorry on a roundabout on Payne Road, East London.

The new blue painted lanes are aimed at providing cyclists with a fast and safe way to travel, however this cycling accident has caused anger amongst the cycling communities.

Many believe that Transport for London still have much work to do to ensure the safety of cyclists.

Police confirmed that the driver of the lorry was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and was later released on bail.

A spokesperson for TfL said they were “extremely sorry to learn of the tragic death”.
