Cycle Fest opens at Odd Down

The Cycle Fest is organised by & North East Somerset Council’s Active Lifestyles and Health Improvement Team and it aims to promote cycling as a sport and safe form of transport. 

The Festival will witness in excess of 2,000 people getting on their bikes to mark the two-month countdown to the Tour of Britain’s arrival in Bath.

The event offers loads of cycling related activities including Go Ride Racing with the Sulis Scorpions on the cycle circuit, families can have a go on the extreme BMX track as well as other family attractions such as circus skills, Tractor Ted and Live music.

One young attendee said: “It was great to have a go on the BMX track – I almost fell off but managed to sort myself out and make it round. The instructors from Get Cycling were brilliant and gave me so much confidence.”

The events manager said: “Cycle Fest is all about people having fun on bikes and being active together. We want to promote the benefits  of cycling and bring the community together.”
