Thirty-two veteran soldiers from Afghanistan have left Edinburgh to start a bike ride which will end in London.
The 500 mile ride aims to raise money for the armed forces charity SSAFA Forces Help.
Michael Swain, a double amputee following an incident with a IED in 2009 heads the grueling challenge.
“This will be the ultimate challenge for me,” he said.
“I have been prepping for this since mid-2010 and have taken part in a number of shorter bike ride events but this will be the toughest yet.
The cyclists said they hope to inspire the public to do more for the SSAFA to help soldiers in rehabilitation at Headly Court.
