Professional Swedish cyclists Emma Johansson has told press that a cycling accident she had this week “could have been much worse”.
The 28-year-old was out training with her husband on Saturday when she was involved in a collision with a car.
The champion rider rider suffered two broken collarbones.
Rumours have also suggested that she may have also broken her arm but is awaiting confirmation.
“I am totally disabled now,” Johansson told press. “I drink through straws and need to be fed when I eat.” However she said that the accident “could have been much worse.”
She also remains optimistic that she’ll be back in the saddle soon:
“Now it’s important that the injury heals completely,” Johansson said. “But I have no pain in my legs and I can breathe so I might be able to pedal soon.”
