Home » Cyclist sustains broken arm after hit-and-run
April 12th, 2017
Police have arrested a van driver after there were reports of a yellow transit van knocking a cyclist off his bike and driving off. Police and ambulance crews responded promptly to 999 calls after the injured cyclist was found dazed and confused on the road with an apparent arm injury.
Police appealed for witnesses to the accident to come forward to help establish how the accident happened and gather more information on the vehicle involved. This eventually led them to a van driver being arrested for failing to stop after knocking a cyclist off his bike and leaving him in the road with a broken arm.
Police are yet to establish if it was a deliberate hit and run or a case of the driver being unaware of the collision.
The accident happened in the afternoon and the 48 year old cyclist was treated for a broken arm by paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment.
