A young cyclist, believed to be in his 20’s, was rushed to Hospital following a collision with a car. Emergency services were called to the site of the accident at a busy road junction at approx. 2pm.
The road was closed by emergency services, whilst the cyclist and driver had their injuries assessed and treatment given by ambulance crews.
The cyclist was rushed to Hospital and remains in a critical condition. The cyclist is thought to have suffered head and leg injuries after colliding with a Vauxhall Astra, driven by a female driver. The woman was not injured and stopped at the scene to aid Police with their enquiries.
A police spokesperson commented: “The cyclist remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital this morning”.
