Cyclist hospitalised after car accident at busy road junction

A road traffic accident between a cyclist and a car happened at a busy junction and resulted in the cyclist being taken to hospital and roads been closed whilst traffic accident investigations were conducted.

The collision was reported at approximately 4.20 pm between a cyclist and a car and it occurred at a road junction.  Police, ambulance crews and paramedics attended the scene and took the cyclist to hospital.  His injuries are not thought to be serious or life threatening.  The driver of the vehicle was also unhurt.

Police said, “We were called at 4.19pm following a road traffic collision on Road,

“The collision involved a man on a pedal cycle and a car. The man is believed to have sustained minor injuries.

“The road was closed briefly whilst emergency services responded to the incident.”
