A man from Cambridge has been left seriously injured following a cycling accident.
It is believed that he collided with a coach whilst riding along Trumpington Road when the accident occurred.
A witness who passed the scene shortly after the incident said: “I believe it was a coach taking people to Stansted airport. There was a helicopter and police closed much of the road off for a while. No cars were initially allowed along there at all, then they had road blocks at the turning into Long Road and further along.
“We saw the bus passengers standing beside the coach with their suitcases, and the bike and cycle helmet lying in the road.”
Although the cyclists injuries are serious, they are not thought to be life threatening.
A spokesperson for the local police said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision or either the cyclist or coach prior to it to call police.”
