The cyclists now want to know why more wasn’t done to punish the driver.
“All of a sudden I’m on the hood of the car,” said the cycling accident victim.
“I’m lucky to be alive to fight this now because if I was dead, this lady would be off with just a citation.”
The Sheriff’s report says that the 70-year-old driver hit the cyclist who rolled on to the bonnet of the car and then on to the floor. The driver then sped off.
A spokesperson from the Naples Pathway coalition said, “We don’t understand why this driver would hit a cyclist, know she hit a cyclist and leave the scene of the crash and the only thing that happens to her is a summons to appear in court about leaving the scene of the crash.
“She should have been arrested,”
If you have been involved in a similar cycling accident in the last three years there is a good chance you could be entitled to cycling accident compensation.
