A 15 year old cyclist who rode his BMX bike into a holiday maker and knocked her unconscious has admitted the charge of dangerous cycling.

A youth court in Flintshire heard that the brakes of the bike had been removed as it was intended for tricks and stunts.

Several people were forced to jump out of the way as the boy cycled down a hill on a bridal way before crashing into the 56-year-old victim.

The victim was thrown into the air and landed on her face, causing cuts to her brow, injuries to her abdomen and damage to her thumb.

The cyclist was fined £100 for the incident and was forced to pay an additional £200 in compensation to the victim.

Police say the boy, who must remain unnamed, was warned about his brakeless bike in the past. His mother is said to have has confiscated bike since hearing about the incident.
