Matt - LondonHome » Boxer Gary Mason Dies in Cycling Accident
March 1st, 2011
Former British Boxer Gary Mason has tragically died in a cycling accident in London. Mason was struck by a man driving a white Vauxhall Combi van, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but was later released on bail until March 2011, pending further enquirers. Mason is said to be the first person to be killed in a cycling accident in London this year. Despite the increase in cyclists on the roads of London, statistics show that the number of deaths has dropped in the last few years. In 2007 there were 15 cycling related deaths in London, but on 2010 there were only 10.
