A 90 year old man has been banned from driving after pulling out of a junction and hitting a cyclist. The cyclist, who was a retired police officer, suffered severe injuries to both his legs and was hostipalised for more than 12 weeks following the accident. The driver, Thomas Clark was this week banned from the road and fined £100 after pleading guilty to driving without due care and attention. Mohamed Patel, who defended Clark during the case, said: “He is deeply remorseful. It was an unfortunate accident. “He has never been involved in any accidents before. It has been traumatising for him.” Clark will have to pass another driving test if he wishes to drive again.
