Ambulance involved in cycle accident

A man, who is believed to be in his 30s, has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a collision with an ambulance. The rider has sustained head injuries as a result of the accident, which occurred around 7pm on Friday evening.

The incident happened on a busy road in Islington, a spokesperson for the London Ambulance service said “We were called at just after 7pm to Goswell Road to reports of a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and one of our emergency vehicles. “We sent a motorcycle responder, a single responder in a car, an ambulance crew, a duty officer and the medical team from London’s Air Ambulance in a car to the scene.”

Metropolitan police were called to the incident after receiving reports from a witness, “We received a call from a member of the public reporting a man in the carriageway injured. “It followed a collision with a London Ambulance Service yellow ambulance, and the man has serious head injuries as a result. “

 

The cyclist’s injuries are not life threatening or life changing.
